Traffic Impact at Lundby Tunnel in Gothenburg, from 7 September 2026

The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) will commence a major refurbishment of the Lundby Tunnel on Hisingen in Gothenburg in September 2026. From 7 September onwards, the tunnel will operate in one direction only, with westbound traffic being permitted through one of the tunnel bores. Eastbound traffic will be diverted via alternative routes.
The refurbishment is expected to continue until late autumn 2028 and, together with other road infrastructure projects on Hisingen in Gothenburg, will impact traffic flow in the area and result in longer travel times.
As a consequence, cargo to, from, and via our terminals and warehouses on Hisingen may be affected during the refurbishment period. At this stage, it is too early to assess the full extent of the impact; however, we are closely monitoring developments and will make every effort to minimise any disruption and ensure that we continue to provide a high level of service to our customers.
