Information regarding a possible strike in the logistics and transport industry in Norway

Published 15 maj 2026

Mediation concerning the collective agreements for logistics, port and freight forwarding employees in Norway will take place on Monday, May 18. If the parties fail to reach an agreement, a strike may commence from midnight on May 19, meaning from Tuesday next week.

The Norwegian United Federation of Trade Unions (Fellesforbundet) has now issued a notice of industrial action to the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise – Logistics and Transport (NHO Logistikk og Transport).
NTEX is not part of the potential conflict and will not become involved in any possible escalation. However, we work with many partners in Norway who transport goods on our behalf and who may be affected. This may impact our ability to distribute goods from our terminal in Vestby.

We will do our utmost to ensure deliveries are completed as normal, but historically such conflicts have caused significant disruption also for parties in the supply chain that are not directly involved in the conflict. At this stage, it is not possible to predict the exact consequences, but we wish to inform you already now of the potential situation. This situation must be regarded as force majeure, and any additional costs related to terminal handling and transport execution may need to be passed on to our customers.

Customers whose own employees may be taken out on strike, resulting in consequences for our normal operations and transport setup, are kindly asked to contact us as soon as possible for clarification. In cases where customers require special arrangements that lead to additional costs for NTEX, such costs will be charged to the individual customer.

We appreciate your understanding, and if you have any questions or require further information, you are welcome to contact your regular contact person with us.
