Important information – CBAM registration required from 1 January 2026

Published 14 oktober 2025

From 1 January 2026, all imports covered by CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) will require the importer to be registered in the CBAM portal.

If the importer is not registered, the Swedish Customs Authority will reject the import declaration, and any costs incurred as a result will be charged to the customer.

More information can be found on the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s website
https://www.naturvardsverket.se/vagledning-och-stod/cbam/

NTEX can also provide additional guidance if needed.

If the registration application is not completed at the time of import, we can store the goods in a customs warehouse until the registration is finalized. Storage and any additional handling costs will be charged.

Products covered by CBAM:

• Cement
• Electricity
• Fertilizers
• Iron and steel
• Aluminium
• Chemicals
